but how do streetwear brands work with the female element?
Actually, most of the products are for women, you can tell from the photos below.
However, which man is trendy (or brave) enough to wear these with little flowers?

These brands are not all in the street style, but some of them are truly attractive to me.
The first streetwear brand has collaborated with Liberty is Supreme, the item was long-sleeve shirts features classic floral patterns, sold in 2011.After this, they have more collaborations of Supreme's Camp Caps every year.
Apart from the floral patterns, they have also tried different patterns including Splatter, Paisley and Jewels.
Maybe this kind of patterns are not everyone's cup of tea,
but I there was still a talking-point which is a good thing for both brands.
The collection from Levi's is one of the most amazing collaborations for me.
Both brands are with long history, while one is steeped in classic American style, the other has built a design legacy from the artistic and creative iconic place that is London.
The Liberty fabric design studio created two exclusive prints for the Levi's® X Liberty London collection. The hero print from the collection is called Carlin. This design of painterly garden flowers is inspired by a print in the Liberty archive from the 1970s. The print was redrawn with watercolour pencils and put into repeat design to create a painted, colourful, and flowing floral.

I think the design of this collection is quite young and still has the concept of Levi's,
it's playful but also full of feminine charm.
Dr. Martens has collaborated with so many brands, of course Liberty was one of them.
But it had done floral patterns in its collections for years, so I'm not sure about the purpose of this collaboration. Maybe Liberty wanted to draw more young customers who were into Dr. Martens.
It makes beautiful sense that these two iconic British fashion brands came together to create shoes that have that “cool” attitude mixed with a delicate sense of pretty.
I personally think the toughness of the punk eras works perfectly with Liberty of London’s traditional floral prints in this collection “Wild Nature”.
They used two prints featured in this collection are called “Strawberry Thief” and “Martens Flower”.
It's easy to wear them with a simple black dress or just with jeans and a basic tee, and you’re done.
It's sold in 2012, but there is no sign of coming again now.
Maybe the result was not as good as they thought? LOL

These floral bags maybe remind you another British brand "Cath Kidston",
but if you are an expert in the floral patterns, it's not a problem for you to distinguish them from the way of drawing flowers.
Herschel Supply is a global accessories brand which provides all kinds of bags.
These lovely backpacks are really for me! They have collaborated for two times in 2014 and NOW.
I've been to Liberty to see the new collection, actually I think the photographs on its website are more attractive for me, maybe it's because of the whole outfit and the atmosphere in those pictures.
But that is the main strategy of the online shopping, using amazing photographs to persuade people to buy it! So if I see these bags separately, I won't have that feeling to own them...LOL
We can see that they have changed the style of these two collections; the image of last year was camping including children's items.
However, they have a totally new image for this year. It's more for mature women and price is higher than last year.
Liberty had another unexpected collaboration with Marc by Marc Jacobs in 2013.
The Marc by Marc Jacobs x Liberty collection comprised of five classic Pretty Nylon styles: a tote bag, tablet case, mini make-up bag, cosmetics case and backpack.
For Spring 2011 Italian eyewear brand SUPER has teamed up once again with Liberty of London to work on several colorways of their Lucia sunglasses.(The first time was in 2009, which was quite early for Liberty)
As part of the collaboration the two came up with overall three colorways, each featuring the signature colorful flower patterns of Liberty. Limited to 75 pieces per colorway.
It's a mutually beneficial relationship for the two brands.
Their main purpose of doing this collection wasn't making a lot of profit, but it's drawing attention to the brands from the press and customers.

I think floral style never go out of fashion. On the contrary, the target market is not only female. I have a shopping experience with my colleague, and he is a young guy (around 25 years old). He picked up a normal small flower shirt in Zara, but I can't image that how attractive when he wore the shirt.
ReplyDeleteI checked the price of products on Supreme. The price is not friendly, I think the reason is they use the high-quality material.
也就是constantly renew itself and still be very relevant to the brand.
